Alanna Moonkill was born in the northlands and raised by her parents who were pure evil. Her father was the late Sir Toltak Sunkiller and her mother was Lady Ramora Moonsweep. Together, they had killed more beasts than her young self could count. Luckily, their battles kept them away from home so her kindly nurse raised me, an old vixen named Quintina. She raised her so that she thought allbeasts were her friends unless they showed her otherwise. But at the same time Quintina let her parents-appointed swordsbeast Daggereye teach her the fine arts of fighting. Between Daggereye and Quintina, she figured she knew all she ever needed to know. She was wrong. One season when her parents came back from fighting a band of shrews that wandered too close to our home, she had a friend with her. Her friend was a little mouse named Renfer. Her parents busted in the door because they could smell mouse a mile away and Sir Toltak swept off Renfer’s head in one fluid motion. Grabbing the Marlfox battle-ax Daggereye had so skillfully taught her with, she killed her own father. Despite their evilness, Lady Ramora really loved him and so, leaving her crumpled on the floor of our house, Alanna ran south, determined not to ever go north again. And she hasn’t. Not yet. Too many memories. Anyway, after she was in the southlands, a band of mercenaries picked her up. Fighting with them brought out the evil she had so long oppressed. Now that Alanna was fully evil, she left them bound for the place called Dark Mouse Cove.

One day, a ragged old Marlfox came up and wandered around DMC calling for Alanna. After finding her, she found out the old one’s name was Ashlan Moonsweep, and she was Alanna’s aunt.  Getting to know her aunt was one of the things that Alanna can say she has actually enjoyed in life.  Ashlan also told her something that scared her a little.  It seems that after she ran away from home, she met a dogfox in the woods, and though she never said his name, it was clear that she loved him.  They got married and had a little vixen, half Marl and half vixen.  They named her Alexia.  But then Ashlan's husband was killed and Alexia ran off.  Turns out that Alanna's friend, Swifty, who's full name is Swiftslayer, is Alexia.  A lot happened and she changed her name to Swiftslayer.

Alanna enjoyed hearing about her past and was very surprised to learn that one of her best friends was her cousin.  And that is the story of Alanna Moonkill.
